Ventura’s Trial Team Recognized by Minnesota Lawyer’s Attorneys of the Year 2014 Award

December 15, 2014

The team of Henson Efron attorneys that successfully represented Jesse Ventura in his defamation case against the estate of American Sniper author Chris Kyle has been selected as one of Minnesota Lawyer’s Attorneys of the Year honorees for 2014.

The legal team won a successful verdict in July 2014 when Ventura was awarded $500,000 for defamation and more than $1.34 million for “unjust enrichment” by a jury in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.

The Henson Efron team included attorneys David Bradley Olsen, Court J. Anderson, John Bisanz, Jr., and Benjamin Hamborg, paralegal Emily Erickson, and legal assistants Cathy Fisher, Vicki Vien, and Jennifer Marxen, each of whom worked diligently over a period of two years to ensure a positive outcome for their client. Olsen took the lead at trial.

Minnesota Lawyer’s Attorneys of the Year honors accomplished attorneys from around the state based on leadership, involvement in major cases, newsworthy events, excellence in corporate or transactional services, and public service. There are 39 honorees selected this year.

Olsen was also honored by Minnesota Lawyer’s Attorneys of the Year in 2013.
