Kathryn A. Graves and Jaime Driggs Discuss Why Divorce Decree Should Address Life Insurance Beneficiary

June 11, 2014

Minnesota’s revocation-upon-divorce statute establishes the automatic revocation of a spouse as a beneficiary in the event of divorce. However, there are many instances where a spouse would want his or her ex to remain a beneficiary. To address this issue, family law attorneys Kathryn A. Graves and Jaime Driggs discuss the importance of comprehensive drafting of judgments and decrees in their article, “Family Law: Divorce decree should cover life insurance thoroughly.”

The article is part of a series previously printed in Minnesota Lawyer covering topics relevant to the area of family law.
